Since all the grandparents were going to be in town for Samuel's baby blessing (more on that in a later post), we decided that it would be a good time to get together for Spencer's third birthday party. We decided that the idea of having 20 young children in our house was more than we could bear. We also decided that counting on decent weather this time of year was not a good plan, so that ruled out holding a party at the park. So in the end, we decided to hold the party at a nearby gym (as in gymnastics). The plan went off smashingly. All we had to provide was cake, ice cream and party treats. The gym came up with all the activities, and the kids had a blast. Spencer has finally reached the age when he knows that birthdays are a big deal (and birthdays with extra presents are an even bigger deal.)
